Who would I want to meet?

I have to admit that I am somewhat of a sucker for inspirational quotes. I like how they make me reflect, some more than others, but particularly this one... It made me think about who I would like to meet. The shocking thing is that what I have been have been striving to be, is actually far from someone I would like to meet...

Who would you like to meet?

LoLa's Music - Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris: We Found Love

Today is such an amazing day! Sun and blue skies, got pics from a beautiful wedding and visit from home later today!

Rihanna's uptempo song We Found Love matches my mood so well today, so it will be the theme song for today. Also it was on repeat a few times yesterday as I completed my first 15K run! YAY!

Have a great day!

LoLa's Closet: Chic Skiing

Since moving to Switzerland, I have been skiing more than ever. It is really amazing how skiing has grown on me, and now I actually prefer to stay in on a friday night, so I can get up early and hit the slopes. I never would have thought that would happen, as I used to love going out partying with me friends!

My current skiing gear was meant to be kind of temporary, as some of it is cheap crap, but what else to get.. I love clothes, but somehow I just find it difficult to be sexy in a suit that makes me look like the michelin man. The UGG boots are not exactly pretty, BUT I do find them more elegant than moon boots, and warm feet is a must when going skiing.

- Rule no. 1: my jacket and pants should be all black, as black is slimming which may minimize the michelin man look!
- Rule no. 2: the jacket should be figure shaped, and possibly have a belt or something in the waist.
- Rule no. 3: accessories can be more colorful, and possibly more expensive to add sophistication.
- Rule no. 4: I will never wear moon boots as they are simply too clumsy!!
...But most importantly the gear should be comfortable!

LoLa's Music - Lana Del Rey: Born to Die

This morning was one of those, where it was really a battle to get out of bed. Somehow these mornings happen more often these days - guess it must be the grey weather and the snow that has been there every fu..ing day for...too long! Today I am going to get a lot of errands done, so that I will be ready for the new job thursday. As it is now 8.30 my day has to kick off now - eugh, mondays and me are a mis-match!!

I need a theme song that is slow, but amazing and inspiring. My choice this morning is the divine Lana Del Rey: Born to Die. This is exactly how I feel this morning!

Lola's Music - Audrey Hepburn: Moon River

Today I will be relaxing, cleaning up a bit and just enjoying the silence of sunday. The weather is grey with rain, so I think I will spoil myself with hot cocoa and a couple of hours in the company of Audrey Hepburn and Tiffany's. If you have not watched Breakfast at Tiffany's, I absolutely recommend you to. It is one of my favorites!

Theme song of the day will be Audrey Hepburn: Moon Rover which is such a lovely classic!

I wish you a wonderful sunday!

LoLa's Food - Stylish Bellini Cocktail

As it is friday, I thought that I would share the recipe of one of my favorite cocktails, the Bellini. The Bellini was invented between 1934 and 1948 by Giuseppe Cipriani, founder of Harry's Bar in Venice, Italy. He named it the Bellini, because the unique pink color reminded him of a toga he had seen in a painting by Venetian artist Giovanni Bellini. The drink started as a seasonal specialty at Harry's Bar, a favorite haunt of Ernest Hemingway, Sinclair Lewis and Orson Welles.

It is a rather girly champagne cocktail, that is great on a hot day, and best of all, it takes about 5 min. to prepare! Today we have a meter of snow in Switzerland, but with a Bellini I can dream my way back to the balcony at Hotel Luna, Capri.

1 peach
Peach liqueur
Champagne/Prosecco/Cava

Blend the peach with liqueur. Fill a champagne or cocktail glass with about 3 cm. of the purée, and fill with cold sparkling wine. Remember that the quality of the sparkles does not matter.

I highly recommend you treat yourself with one of these this friday night!

I am absolutely obsessed with different kinds of tea, and I was so happy when I found Pukka tea! Not only are the flavors absolutely amazing, but the design of the package will light up every kitchen!

If you are going to the UK, remember to buy a small stash of Pukka, as they are only 2,5 pounds, which is about half price. If you become as fond of it as I am - your savings will be worth the trouble!

I have a great tip for everyone, who want to give their computer a touch of sophisticated design. The brand Vipp is primarily known for their designer trash bins for your home, but they have recently come up with a very cute marketing initiative, where you can replace your boring bin on your computer with a stylish Vipp bin. I have replaced mine, and it just adds more personality to your laptop. Download on the Vipp website here: http://www.vipp.com/

Lola's Closet - Work Wear

I am starting a new job in one week exactly, I will be shifting from clothes to jewelry. I have this week off, and have been searching for work wear, as I have been assured that there is no dress code in the office. I would love to maintain a feminine chic style, but with a hint of coolness, so it does not become too conservative and predictable. A style socialite Olivia Palermo is mastering to perfection. Maybe my office style will be a bit like this?

I have one primary concern though. After bumping into Olivia P in Paris, I can say that she is if possible even more skinny and tiny in real life! If I should have any chance of pulling off these outfits, I am in desperate need of some serious dieting! Hmmm... I guess there is no better time than the present to go for a run.

LoLa's Room - A New Beginning

The BF and I will be moving from our lovely little townhouse to a brand new apartment on the 1st of June. I am a bit torn about it. I try to convince myself, that I am the kinda girl who loves changes, as change often means development, and as I want to be the successful woman, who is not afraid of new challenges. After two months of hardcore attempts to deceive myself, I must admit, and might as well say out loud, I HATE CHANGES! On the other hand our living situation is not good enough as it is. I am a big city girl, who do not belong in the suburbs, and I know it will be great once we have moved.

The positive side of changes, is that it can often be the kick off for a new beginning. Therefore, I have decided that the moving will be fun, because we can get rid of all things that are not: beautiful, useful or joyful, and start decorating the new apartment. The building is 1960's style, and it would be so cool to nail the retro/modern interior style. I could use a change and be a bit more challenged, as I for way too long have been saying: "I am absolutely all about minimalistic interior! (that is very hip by the way)", when in fact I have been using the minimalistic style, as an excuse for having no style. But what are the boundaries in the modern retro chic style? I am thinking something like this:
